Dahab in South Sinai, Egypt is one of the
most unique and inspiring places in the world. Boasting
magnificent natural landscapes, this is the perfect place to
escape from hectic cities and busy lives.
Named 'Gold' in Arabic due to the golden
sand, by the Bedouin tribes who settled here. Dahab begun
life as an oasis and Bedouin fishing village. Later
nicknamed 'Goa of the Red Sea' and now ' the Koh Samui of
Egypt' - there is much more to Dahab than meets the eye! For
years Dahab has been an independent travellers haven. If you
love nature, adventure, relaxation and sunshine then you
will love Dahab. See our Dahab
Guide for more information on the town, its activities
and things to do.
Dahab has continued to welcome guests from
all around the world since the 18th January 2011 Revolution
in Egypt. Many visitors have enjoyed the beauty of the
region and not seen any problems or impacts of the events
elsewhere in Egypt. The only thing that has been affected is
the local peoples incomes which are reliant on tourism and
the numbers of people visiting has dropped by around 60%. We
urge people to still come to our lovely town and to support
the local people during this interesting time of oppurtunity
and change in Egypt.
We can provide up to date information about
current situation, which we monitor daily including the
latest advice from embassies and up to date travel advice
for people planning to travel to or from Cairo or elsewhere
within Egypt. If you want to ask us anything please email us
at info@sheikhsalemhouse.com or use the contact us form.
We can organise your
taxi transfers from Taba, Nuwebia, Sharm El Sheikh, St
Catherines to Dahab or from Cairo in fully licensed luxury
mini buses with experienced drivers.

We can also help you organise longer tours
of Egypt and Sinai or organise transfers from other parts of
Egypt.
