Dive safaris are
among the most popular of activities in Dahab, and there are some excellent
remote reefs and the opportunity to dive and swim with turtles, rays,
and sometimes even dolphins in the magnificent waters of the red sea.
Using expert Dahab dive guides we can arrange some amazing dive safaris
to remote reefs for experienced divers only (Minimum PADI Open Water).
We can organise a dive safari that suits you according to your dive experience,
Dive Guide preferences and holiday itinerary.
We use an excellent PADI 5 Star Dive Centre that specialises in Camel Dive Safaris and offers a wide range of guided diving and courses.
Prices start from around
70euro per person for a day 2 dive safari, including dive equipment and
guide and 120 euro per person for overnight trips. The final prices will
vary depending on the number of people in the group and the number of
dives - the price reduces per person if there are more people in a group
- a maximum of 6 persons allowed per Dive Guide. We have a qualified PADI
Dive Instructor and PADI Dive Master on site to assist you in finding
the right safari package for you and we will organise everything all equipment
hire and Dive Guide with a competent and professional dive centre.
If you have not dived in Dahab before, then a check dive (at extra cost of 35 euro per person) will need to be carried out at a local dive site prior to commencing the Safari. A check dive needs to be carried out if you have not dived in the past 6 months - we have to check your buoyancy and dive capabilities before we can take you to remote dive sites.
Day Safari (1-2 dives) or overnight (2-4 dives). Great dives here, turtles and rays are often seen at these dive sites. Ras Abu Gallum is excellent for night dives as well. Get there By Jeep(20mins) - then a Camel Trek or walk (2 hours). A complete trip by Jeep may be available but it involves taking a much longer route than by camel and will involve the hire of a jeep for your whole safari.
There are two dive sites here, teaming with life. This site is one of the hardest to get to from Dahab, so it has to be an overnight safari. Get there via Ras Abu Gallum first, then a jeep is taken from Ras Abu Gallum to Ras Mamluck.
Beautiful dive sites here with some huge fan coral gardens and turtles are often seen here. Day or overnight trips possible. Get there by Jeep to Wadi Gnay (20mins) then camel (2 hours) to Gabr El Bint. Or by boat (1 hr) from the Lagoona Pier but this route is more expensive. No overnight accommodation is availible and this is a day only dive site. Overnight at 3 pools/Wadi Gnay could be added to combine Gab El Bint as part of a longer dive safari.
Nabq National Park
Nabq is another of Sinai's National Park areas and it is huge. It covers most of the area from Sharm El Sheikh to Dahab. A wide variety of dives are possible here including a wreck dive, reef dives and mangrove dives. Just one hour away by Jeep from Dahab. It worth considering an overnight stay here as there is much to see in the National Park and private huts are available, but it can be a little chilly here in December and January.
Ras Mohammed National Park
Close
to Sharm El Sheikh, Ras Mohammed it is one of Sinai's most beautiful National
Parks. Daily dive trips are organised from Dahab, and a boat is taken
from Sharm El Sheikh to the Ras Mohammed Dive Sites. The day includes
2-3 dives, lunch and return journey to Dahab. A full egyptian visa is
required to visit Ras Mohammed.
Another option is a twin centre holiday spending a few days diving in Sharm El Sheikh and the rest of the time in Dahab. We can organise accommodation in Sharm El Sheikh to suit your budget and a competent and professional dive centre to make a twin centre diving holiday for you. This is an excellent option if you are flying to and from Sharm El Sheikh Airport as you can either start your holiday or end it there.
